In a statement today, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reaffirmed that he would continue as the state's leader for another two and a half years. Addressing ongoing speculation about his tenure, Siddaramaiah emphasized that everyone must respect and commit to the decisions made by the Congress high command.
Speaking to reporters, the CM questioned, "Why should I not garland the mother Chamundeshwari in the Jambu Savari next year as well? I have done it for so many years, and I expect to continue the tradition next year." This comment came in light of discussions surrounding his leadership, particularly as the government approaches the two-and-a-half-year mark in November.
Siddaramaiah, who had previously suggested he might not take up the CM role again, dismissed rumours and reaffirmed his commitment to his position. "Many people say a lot of things; let them. They speak like that because the government will complete two and a half years soon," he remarked, urging party members to remain united and follow the high command's guidance.
CM also took a jab at BJP
The CM also took a jab at the opposition, accusing BJP leaders of spreading falsehoods. "The BJP does not understand the real situation. They are not fortune tellers," he said.
Tomorrow, Siddaramaiah will flag off the Jambu Savari at the Mysore Palace for the eighth consecutive year as CM, before offering flowers at the Chamundeshwari temple.
