A family argument over a travel plan ends in tragedy in Saraswathipuram, Mysuru; daughter accuses father and brother, while both deny wrongdoing as police begin investigation.

A tragic incident has been reported from Saraswathipuram in Mysuru, where a 46-year-old woman allegedly ended her life following a domestic dispute over a planned trip. The case has taken a dramatic turn after the deceased woman’s daughter accused her father and brother of harassment and responsibility for her mother’s death.

The deceased has been identified as Sandhya (46), a native of Bengaluru, who married Ranganath from Chamarajanagar district 25 years ago. The couple has two children, a daughter, Srishti, who is currently pursuing higher studies abroad, and a 17-year-old son, Kaushik, who lives with his parents in Mysuru.

According to police, the incident occurred on Wednesday night, following a heated argument between the couple regarding a proposed leisure trip. After the quarrel, Ranganath and his son reportedly left the house. When they returned, they allegedly found Sandhya hanging from a ceiling fan in her bedroom.

She was declared dead at the scene, and local residents alerted the police. A case was immediately registered at Saraswathipuram Police Station, and further investigation is underway.

After receiving the news, Srishti returned from abroad and made serious allegations against her father and brother. She claimed her mother was constantly harassed, mentally tortured, and subjected to suspicion and financial pressure.

She alleged that her father frequently doubted her mother and demanded money, while her brother allegedly followed his father’s instructions. Srishti demanded strict legal action against both and insisted that her maternal uncle should perform the last rites, not her father or brother.

Ranganath denied all allegations, stating that although an argument did take place over the travel plan, he did not harm his wife. He said he had previously supported her travels, including international trips.

He added that nearly 90% of his property had been transferred in his wife’s name, dismissing claims of financial harassment. He insisted that forensic reports and investigation findings would reveal the truth.

The Saraswathipuram Police have registered a case and are conducting a detailed inquiry, including forensic examination and witness statements, to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the tragic death.
