The house, located at Palace Square near Eruveli, just 4 km from the renowned Chottanikkara Bhagavathy temple, has been abandoned for nearly two decades. The refrigerator, believed to have been in use during the house's occupancy, contained the skull and three packs of bones. The house had no electricity connection, and the refrigerator was without a compressor.
Preliminary observations suggest the skull is several years old, but its exact age will be determined through further forensic analysis.
The property, part of a 14-acre plot owned by an Ernakulam native, has been locked and unused for 15-20 years. The discovery has raised concerns among locals, prompting the police to initiate a detailed investigation.
Inquest proceedings were completed at the site, and authorities are now working to trace the origins of the remains and any potential links to criminal activities. The incident has left the community on edge, as the abandoned property has long been a subject of local complaints regarding suspicious activities. Further updates are awaited as the investigation unfolds.
