Tuskers fight it out, leave devotees terrorised!

The fight went on for almost a kilometre

Fearing for their lives, devotees ran helter-skelter

Two elephants were captured engaged in a fight in Thiruvananthapuram during a procession.

The incident took place when hundreds of devotees had gathered in what’s called ‘upacharam chollal’. As the procession was going on, one of the elephants suddnely attacked the other.

The mahout tried his best calming the two elephants, but his efforts didn’t pay off. As the fight worsened, devotees literally took to their heels, with several getting injured in the melee.

Eyewitnesses add that the argy-bargies of these pachyderms went on for quite some time. Not just that, it also lasted 60 minutes.

Perhaps, one of the curious onlookers caught the entire action on his mobile phone, giving us a glimpse of the elephant terror.
