PM Modi stresses on cleanliness in his Ayodhya speech

He urges devotees to light lamps on January 22

He says countries must preserve heritage as they progress

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Ayodhya, just weeks ahead of the historic temple inauguration on January 22.

He addresses a public gathering in which he made several important points:

  • Don’t rush to visit the temple on January 22 itself. We have waited for 500 years. We can wait for some more time. Crowding will not help.
  • Every Indian must light a lamp in their houses on January 22 as the temple gets inaugurated.
  • January 14th onwards, let’s observe a cleanliness drive.
  • All temples in the country should lay emphasis on cleanliness.
  • Strength of ‘vikas’ (development), ‘virasat’ (heritage) will take India forward.
  • Any country in the world, if it has to reach greater heights, it must preserve its rich heritage.

Inauguration of the temple

The grand temple of Ram is all set to be inaugurated on January 22. As many as 4000 invites have been sent out. A security blanket has been thrown over the temple town.

It was in 2019 that the Supreme Court handed over the disputed site to Hindus. At the same time, it also handed over a 5-acre plot to Muslims to built a mosque.
