In Kadubeesanahalli, Bengaluru, the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) initiated a demolition operation, leveling around 100 houses in an industrial zone.

The move was met with opposition from residents who claimed they were blindsided by the lack of prior notice. Despite the objections, the KIADB deployed over 100 police personnel to maintain order and ensure the safety of the demolition process.

Residents, some of whom had resided in the area for over two decades, resisted the demolition by occupying their homes. In response, law enforcement detained individuals protesting the operation and placed them in custody. Meanwhile, residents hurriedly relocated their possessions, placing them on the streets and awaiting transportation to move their belongings to safety.

KIADB officials, on-site during the demolition, asserted that they were acting in accordance with court orders to dismantle structures erected within the industrial enclave.

The operation unfolded against a backdrop of tension, with residents expressing frustration over the perceived lack of communication and the sudden upheaval of their homes in the face of the demolition drive.
