    Police investigating ties to recent Rameshwaram cafe bombing

Police authorities intercepted a substantial amount of explosives from a private vehicle at a checkpoint on the Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border in Kolar district.

The cache of explosives confiscated comprised 1,200 gelatin sticks, 7 boxes of detonator wire, and 6 detonators, according to police reports.

One individual has been apprehended in connection to the incident, while another suspect remains at large. Both individuals are under investigation for potential ties to the recent Rameshwaram cafe bombing in Bengaluru that left nine people injured.

The Rameshwaram Cafe explosion on March 1 was executed using an improvised explosive device (IED). The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is spearheading the investigation into the bombing, identifying Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taahaa as primary suspects.

The anti-terror agency has offered a reward of Rs 10 lakh for any information leading to the arrest of the suspects. Muzammil Shareef has been apprehended in connection with the case thus far.

As part of their investigative procedure, NIA officials have broadened their scope to include scrutinizing acquaintances from schools and colleges associated with both the fugitives and those already arrested.
