Bollywood star Kriti Sanon recently opened up about her early struggles in the film industry, revealing it took years for her to be recognized by her own name and face. In a candid conversation at The Indian Express’ Expresso with Kajol, Sanon shared her journey as an outsider in the industry.

Despite a challenging 2023 with consecutive box-office flops, 2024 has marked a major comeback for the National Award-winning actor. Both her films, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and Crew, have emerged as major successes, with Crew becoming the third highest-grossing Hindi film of the year. Sanon is now preparing for her third release of the year, Do Patti, where she plays a dual role alongside Kajol.
Reflecting on her early career, Sanon admitted that after her 2014 debut in Heropanti, she was often referred to as “Tiger Shroff’s heroine.” "When you’re not from the industry, it takes longer for people to recognize you," she explained, sharing how even children of Bareilly Ki Barfi director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari called her “Tiger didi.” Sanon credited Bareilly Ki Barfi for helping establish her identity in the industry.
