Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha Election, Indian National Congress (INC) legislator from Gubbi S.R Srinivas and his companions have been charged with allegedly lethally attacking the Campaign Committee Chairman Rayasandra Ravikumar. 

Ravikumar held a protest against engineers in the Public Works Department (PWD) office for not giving him a contract for a tender. At 10:30 PM, the attack is said to have taken place after a heated exchange of words. It is being reported that Ravikumar was warned from carrying out work in the region. He was threatened with being burnt if he did not heed to the warning. 

It is also being said that an attempt to kidnap Ravikumar was made. He supposedly escaped and sought protection at the Tilak Nagar Police Station. The police officials have also sustained injuries during their efforts to stop the conflict. Chairs were broken at the spot of the confrontation. A complaint has been registered in the Tilak Nagar Police Station. Ravikumar is currently being treated for his injuries at the Tumkur District Hospital.
