    Candidates for 13 seats were reportedly finalised

The ticket distribution for the Lok Sabha election from the Indian National Congress (INC) is underway. Candidates for certain seats were finalised in a Screening Committee Meeting that extended until late night. Confusion is still reported to prevail to finalise candidates for certain constituencies. 

7 contestants have already been declared. 

It is being said that for 13 seats, one contestant has been narrowed down upon. 8 seats are still undecided in this regard at the moment. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar reached Delhi to hold discussions with the high command. 

The Belagavi constituency was one of the focus of the meeting. There was competition between the Satish Jarkiholi camp and Mrunal Hebbalkar. Satish stated that Lakshmanrao Chingale stood a good chance of winning. Surjewala however indicated that Priyanka Jarkiholi would be a suitable candidate. Discussions to field Sowmya Reddy from the Bengaluru South constituency took place. Ramalinga Reddy pointed to a shortage of funds. The leaders attempted to convince Ramalinga Reddy by stating that the surveys were tilted in her favour. Ramalinga requested for time to finalise this decision. Ramalinga Reddy also stated that significant spending was made during the Vidhana Sabha election held in 2023.
