The onset of the campaigning for the Lok Sabha election has resulted in certain developments in Karnataka. The ticket distribution by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had resulted in dissatisfaction among certain leaders. The Indian National Congress (INC) is attempting to encash upon this. The INC is attempting to establish contact with the disgruntled leaders and provide a shock to the BJP. The BJP- Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) alliance was assumed to have an advantage heading into the election but these developments have proved to be a setback.

Member of Parliament (MP) from the Bengaluru North constituency Sadananda Gowda has missed out on the ticket. The former Chief Minister had praised the INC government for taking all communities along with them in their plans which he highlighted was missing in the BJP after having lost out on the ticket. Reports suggest that he has not been active in campaigning for the current candidate Shobha Karandlaje.

The Bengaluru North, Mysuru and Dakshina Kannada seats are prospects for Sadananda Gowda. The Congress is attempting to finalise a candidate from the Vokkaliga community from the Mysuru constituency.
