Member of Parliament (MP) from Mandya Sumalatha will hold an important meeting today after which she will announce her decision with regard to whether or not she would contest the 2024 Lok Sabha Election. Sandalwood actor Challenging Star Darshan will also take part in the meeting.
The meeting will take place in the Kalikamba Samudaya Bhavana in Mandya. Producer Rockline Venkatesh, Sumalatha’s son Abhishek Ambareesh and senior actor Doddanna will also take part in the meeting. A documentation of her achievements during her tenure as an MP will be released. Reports suggest that Darshan will be releasing the document. Whether Sumalatha will take a backstep in light of the larger interest of the alliance remains to be seen.
Sumalatha posted on social media expressing her opinion on this issue. “Dear respected people of Mandya, I had recorded a historical win in Mandya in the previous election, making Mandya a topic of discussion at a national level. This election too is no exception in that regard. Mandya has witnessed a political shift. Many await my decision. Our family is not attached to power. Serving the people of Mandya is our priority. We will take a decision only with the consultation of the people of Mandya,” Sumalatha stated in her post.
