KS Eshwarappa expelled for a period of six years from the party

He is contesting Lok Sabha Elections as an independent candidate

Top brass had decided not to issue a BJP ticket to his son Kantesh

Senior BJP leader KS Eswarappa has been expelled for a period of six years from the party owing to indiscipline. It might be recalled that he is contesting the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 as an independent candidate, from Shivamogga constituency against the wishes of the party.

Earlier the top brass had decided not to issue a ticket to his son Kantesh to contest from Haveri. He had even let out an outburst, showcasing his angst. He had blamed BS Yediyurappa, the former chief minister over the development.

“It is similar to squeezing one’s mother’s neck. Based on their individual achievement, what is the stance you must take? Not just Kantesh. C.T Ravi, Sadananda Gowda and Pratap Simha have also faced injustice. This sentiment is also being echoed by many supporters. My followers are urging me to contest as an independent candidate from Shivamogga. This is about my future, Karnataka’s future and BJP’s future. I will hold a meeting on March 15th and take an apt decision later,” Eshwarappa had earlier said this.

Karnataka will go to polls in two phases April 26 and May 7. The entire election process is being held in 7 phases, the results of which will be declared on June 4. While PM Modi hopes for a hattrick, the INDI Alliance hopes to be the party spoiler.
