The Indian National Congress (INC) released the 4th list of candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. However the 4 seats in Karnataka that are yet to be announced did not feature in the list.

Particularly, the decision with regard to the Kolar constituency has certain complications. K.H Muniyappa faction and the K.R Ramesh Kumar faction are both eyeing for the seat. A meeting was held in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar for negotiations in this regard. However a unanimous decision wasn’t arrived at in the meeting. The Congress high command will take the final decision in this regard.

The faction in support of K.H Ramesh Kumar has expressed reservations in giving a ticket to the family members of K.H Muniyappa. His son-in-law’s name was making rounds. The faction even stated that they may not be inclined to work for the party if despite their reservation, the ticket does get distributed to the Muniyappa faction. Siddaramiah however advised them to work for the party no matter what the high command decides. This advice was directed to both factions. The faction representing Ramesh Kumar walked out of the meeting after expressing their opinion.
