With Lok Sabha elections just a few weeks away, the Congress released its first list of candidates. The first list pertains to 39 constituencies and has 15 candidates from General Category, 24 from OBC, SC/ST and minorities.

There were speculations over Rahul Gandhi contesting from Bangalore Rural. But such speculations have been put to rest. There are talks that he would contest from Amethi as well. But as of now, there is no confirmation about it.
KC Venugopal stresses eradication of BJP
KC Venugopal, Congress General Secretary, said, “The next CEC is on March 11. I urge you all to wait for the list. We are going on a clear basis on winnability. We are trying our best to go with the I.N.D.I alliance. But I concede there are issues. We are here to reduce BJP seats. We are in the process of finding the best candidates.”
He also reiterated that BJP should be eradicated.
He said, “We want to eradicate this fascist government. That is the foremost priority. We want to win as many seats as possible.”
