Reports suggest that Sandalwood actor Dolly Dhananjay may enter politics. Presently, he is also the brand ambassador of a private company. 

Even as the news spreads, NewsFirst Prime has learnt that he may show his loyalty to the Congress. It has also been learnt that the Congress wants to field him against incumbent BJP MP Pratap Simha from Mysuru Constituency. 

However, the actor has decided not to take any sudden steps in this regard. He has asked the party to give him more time so that he can weigh the pros and cons and then take an informed decision. 

The Lok Sabha elections 2024 are just a few months away. The gameplan of the Congress is that, if it fields Dhananjay, it would be able to catch Lingayat votes. 

In order to defeat a highly popular leader like Pratap Simha, the Congress wants to use the ‘clean-image and democratic values’ as exhibited by Dhananjay. At the same time, Dhananjay also has a massive fan following. It is these points that the Congress wants in order to emerge victorious in the said region.
