Former K'taka CM HD Kumaraswamy to contest Mandya elections

He will be the coalition candidate of the BJP and JD(S)

Karnataka will go to polls on April 26 and May 7

All speculations have been put to rest as the BJP-JD(S) coalition has decided to field former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy from Mandya in Karnataka.

This announcement was made by BY Vijayendra, the state BJP president. He also went on to state that the people needed a personality like Kumaraswamy who has been in the political arena for a long, long time. He also stressed that it was the BJP-JD(S)’ resolve to make Narendra Modi the PM yet again, for the third consecutive term.

Vijayendra lambasts Siddaramaiah 

Training his guns at CM Siddaramaiah, Vijayendra criticised him for ‘dividing’ the society based on caste and creeds at a time when the state is reeling under the consequences of drought and farmers are attempting suicide.

Congress leaders dithering to contest

The president also noted how many Congress leaders have refrained from contesting the Lok Sabha elections out of sheer fear of losing. At the same time, he also noted how tickets have been given to their children.

Sumalatha had won 2019 elections from Mandya

While HD Kumaraswamy has thrown his hat into the ring, it should be noted that Sumalatha, the wife of deceased actor Ambareesh, had won the 2019 LS elections, defeating Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumaraswamy.
