Geetha Shivarajkumar will contest from Shivamogga from the Indian National Congress (INC). She has support from a wide spectrum of the Kannada film industry. 

A meeting with Sandalwood veterans was held in Geetha Shivakumar’s residence. Sandalwood star Shivaraj Kumar who is the husband of Geetha Shivarakumar will be campaigning for her. He spoke in the meeting. “Where there is a will, there’s a way. I would like to thank people of the industry who have come forward to lend support to Geetha Shivarajkumar. My father (Dr Rajkumar) would always say that the entire Kannada film industry is one family. I would always be indebted to producers,” he said. 

Shivarajkumar also shared a piece of advice with Geetha Shivarajkumar. “Experience isn’t the only decisive factor. We do not need words to give rise to new forms. Having a good heart is more important than experience. I will be by Geetha’s side. Dr Rajkumar had an interest in politics. All Chief Ministers (CMs)would visit him. He never said that politics is not important. If he wanted to stay away from politics, why did he have me married to former CM Bangarappa’s daughter?” Shivarajkumar highlighted. 

He stated that Geetha’s entry into politics is a welcome sign given that the percentage of women in politics is low.
