Multilingual actress Ramya has ruled the hearts of her fans for years together. However, when it comes to politics, the star actor has become rather docile. 

Now, with the Lok Sabha elections fast approaching, she has certainly become conspicuous by her absence. 

It was in 2012 that the star actress made her political debut as a youth leader in the Congress. Trained under the able guidance of SM Krishna, former chief minister of Karnataka, Ramya etched a name for herself as the high command acknowledged her calibre. 

In 2013, she also contested the Mandya bypoll and successfully won. But the year next, she lost by 5500 votes. With this loss, she even quietly vacated Mandya. 

However, when it comes to the state, the Siddaramaiah government 1.0 was in power from 2013 to 2018. But Ramya wasn’t seen in any active role. 

Even now, if one were to guess that the actress will be given a ticket by the Congress from Mandya, it’s a high impossibility. The party has shown interest in Star Chandru.
