I had a lead of 48,000 votes in the Assembly Elections: Siddaramaiah

Should I remain as the CM or not?: Siddaramaiah

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) have often alleged that the current ruling government will face challenges with regard to keeping its house in order after the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. Recently Chief Minister (CM) Siddaramaiah addressed a gathering in the Varuna assembly constituency from where he had successfully contested the Vidhana Sabha election in 2023. Varuna is a part of the Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituency wherein Sunil Bose, the son of H.C Mahadevappa who serves as the Cabinet Minister for Social Welfare in the government of Karnataka, is the candidate from the Indian National Congress (INC).   “In 2019 our lead was 9000 votes in Varuna. The INC candidate Dhruv Narayan lost by merely 1817 votes. That shouldn’t happen. Even if he had received 3000 more votes in Varuna, he would have won. I had a lead of 48,000 votes in the Assembly Elections. You must give a blogger lead in this Lok Sabha Election. Varuna has representation in the form of Mahadevappa, myself and the former MLA Yathindra,” Siddaramaiah said.

Siddaramaiah also indicated the importance of consolidation in Varuna for his position as the Chief Minister (CM). “If Varuna is able to give a lead of 60,000 to Sunil, my position as the Chief Minister will remain consolidated. Should I remain as the CM or not? I will return after our victory to thank you,” Siddaramaiah asserted.
