Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Woman experiences heart attack in polling station in Bengaluru

    Incident occurred in J.P Nagar 8th Phase

    Woman was taken to the Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences

    CPR was carried out on the patient

The 2nd phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha Election is underway. Voters began forming queues outside the polling stations right at 7 AM in the morning. 

In various parts of the city, the temperature was on a rise. Those standing in the queue got tired. Some of the people were using their voter IDs as fans. 

A warning of a possible increase in temperature was given by the meteorological department. The temperature in the afternoon was expected to be in the range of 30 degrees to 34 degrees.

In J.P Nagar 8th Phase, a woman experienced a heart attack while having assembled to cast her vote. She collapsed while attempting to drink water. She was taken to the Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences in Bommanahalli. Dr Ganesh Srinivas Prasad looked into this case and ensured that the patient was revived. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was carried out on the patient. Others in the polling station rushed the woman to the hospital when she collapsed. An ambulance arrived within 5 minutes. 

Fortunately, a major tragedy was averted. The doctor has been receiving praise as his timely intervention has resulted in granting a fresh lease of life for the woman.
