Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive gathering in Bengaluru, with just a few days left for the elections on April 26. He campaigned for four candidates, Shobha from Bengaluru North, Tejasvi Surya from Bengaluru South, PC Mohan from Bengaluru Central and Dr CN Manjunath from Bengaluru Rural.

He took the opportunity to touch upon issues that have brought laurels to Bengaluru city. Noting that Bengaluru Airport is extremely sophisticated, he underlined that it has made headlines all over the world.

Moving on metro, the PM reiterated that it has eased traffic to a great extent and pointed at how it has grown from a mere 17kms in 2014 to a humongous 70kms presently.
On HAL, he said that it had become a profit-making company and become a pride for Bengaluru.
Criticising the Congress, he also noted that Kempegowda had built the beautiful city of Bengaluru, but Congress had converted it to ‘tanker city’ with an obvious reference to how the city is facing a death of water in the recent days.
Earlier, Modi was in Chikkaballapur to campaign for the Kolar and Chikkaballapur candidates. It is interesting to note that former PM HD Devegowda was also in attendance, where he tore into the Congress for its guarantee schemes.
