Addressing the gathering, she said, “I have tried my best to develop my constituency. I have also done my best to help uphold the dignity of the Mandya constituency. Nobody has pointed any finger at me about my behaviour in the Parliament.”

She added, “Mandya is an emotion, love and pride for me. It is not just a constituency. If Mandya is with me, it is like my husband being with me. I have a belief that if the people of Mandya bless me, it is like Ambareesh blessing me. Till I am alive, I want Mandya to be mine. My journey in the last elections has been full of difficulties. I have been telling you for a long time. Without your consent, I won’t be doing anything. I am forever indebted to the people of Mandya. Whatever decision I take, it will be with your consent. I have no words to express my gratitude.”

On the issue of contesting from Mandya, she reiterated, “I will inform you of my decision in a few days’ time.”

Her son Abhishek Ambareesh also reiterated that they would not go anywhere else.
