Arvind Kejriwal was produced in front of the Rose Avenue Court
Additional Solicitor General SV Raju stated that Kejriwal was the main conspirator
With political analysts monitoring the legal proceedings in the arrest of the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, support has been pouring in for him from political factions associated with the Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (INDIA). The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee expressed her solidarity at this juncture. “I vehemently condemn the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, the sitting elected Chief Minister of Delhi elected by the people. I have personally reached out to Smt Sunita Kejriwal to extend my unwavering support and solidarity. It’s outrageous that while elected opposition Chief Ministers (CMs) are being deliberately targeted and arrested while individuals accused under Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)/ Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigations are allowed to continue their malpractices with impunity, especially after aligning with the Bharatiya Janata (BJP). This is a blatant assault on democracy. Today, our INDIA alliance will meet the Election Commissioner (EC) to express our strong objection to the deliberate targeting and arrests of opposition leaders, particularly during the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) period,” Mamata stated on the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
