Meta has finally rolled out its AI chatbot on WhatsApp in India, revolutionizing user experience with integrated AI features. Unlike regular WhatsApp conversations, interactions with Meta AI aren’t end-to-end encrypted, as they’re utilized for AI training.

Similar to other AI offerings like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and Microsoft’s Copilot, Meta AI on WhatsApp boasts an array of features such as answering queries, generating text and images, language translation, and idea suggestions. In group chats, users can seek advice, request news updates, and even prompt image generation using dedicated chatbox prompts.

  • Type “@” followed by “Meta AI” in the message field.
  • If prompted, review and accept the terms.
  • Input your prompt, like “Generate an image of a flying pig,” akin to DALL-E or Copilot prompts.
  • Send your message, and the AI’s response will appear in the chat.

Additionally, users can reply to messages from Meta AI:

  • Swipe right on the AI message.
  • Type your response.
  • Send your message.

While Meta can access conversations labeled with Meta AI, users have the option to delete individual chats with AIs or request the removal of previously shared information.
