    1 dead, 35 fall ill after drinking contaminated water

    DHO rushes to the spot, holds investigation

    MUDA president announces Rs 1 lakh ex-gratia

A 23-year-old died after drinking contaminated water in Mysuru, Karnataka. Furthermore, it’s reported that 35 more people have fallen ill. They all have been admitted to a hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Kanakaraju. As the news spread, the district health officer Kumaraswamy rushed to the spot and held an inspection. 

Later, DC Dr KV Rajendra also paid a visit to the spot. He has instructed officials to take precautions to ensure an epidemic doesn’t spread. He has also appealed to the public to be more careful when it comes to drinking water and urged them to observe hygiene. 

President of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Marigowda also visited the spot and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh to the next of kin.
