KSRTC has decided to deploy additional 350 buses to Mysuru ahead of Dasara

Prepared for the surge of celebrants expected during the upcoming Dasara festivities, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has made arrangements to accommodate the anticipated rise in demand. This year’s Dasara celebration in the culturally vibrant city of Mysuru is set to commence on Sunday, October 15.

The expected increase in footfall can be attributed to the implementation of the Shakti Yojana by the state Congress, aimed at empowering women.

This initiative is expected to attract a significant number of celebrants keen on witnessing the magnificence of Dasara, a major Hindu festival celebrated across Karnataka.

With the Shakti Yojana in place, an impressive 3.75 lakh individuals are already commuting daily, this number is anticipated to escalate to approximately five lakh during the Dasara festivities.

To ensure public convenience and alleviate potential crowding, the KSRTC division in Mysuru has proactively decided to deploy an additional 350 buses. All necessary preparations have been made to efficiently manage the heightened traffic during Dussehra.

In anticipation of the increased traffic due to the Shakti Yojana, extra drivers and conductors are being assigned from nearby districts to operate various types of additional buses, including Rajhamsa and Airawat.

It has been customary for different KSRTC divisions, like Mandya and Chamarajanagar, to collaborate during Dasara, ensuring the availability of more buses to meet the growing demand.
