Over 1,300 gifts including paintings, sculptures, and tribal artifacts up for auction from September 17 to October 2
The seventh edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mementos E-Auction is underway, running from his birthday on September 17 to Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. Conducted by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), this year’s auction features over 1,300 gifts received by the Prime Minister during various official programmes.

The auction includes an extraordinary collection of Indian art and culture, ranging from paintings, sculptures, idols, folk and tribal artifacts, sports memorabilia, ceremonial items, and artefacts of honour.
Notable items include a Pashmina shawl from Jammu and Kashmir, a Tanjore painting of Ram Durbar, a metal statue of Nataraja, Rogan art ‘Tree of Life’, handwoven Naga shawls, and sports items presented by Indian para-athletes.

All proceeds from the auction will go to Namami Gange, the central government’s flagship initiative to rejuvenate and protect the Ganga river ecosystem. Citizens and art enthusiasts can participate online at pmmementos.gov.in, and the items are available for public viewing at NGMA, New Delhi, from 10 am to 6 pm daily.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged participation in the e-auction through his X account, highlighting that the initiative not only celebrates India’s rich cultural heritage but also supports a critical environmental cause.

This edition is considered the largest and most diverse so far, reflecting India’s creativity, artistry, and the Prime Minister’s extensive engagements across the country.
