UIDAI introduces new Aadhaar update rules allowing citizens to change details anytime, from anywhere, without visiting a centre, alongside revised service fees and a PAN linking deadline.
Starting November, citizens can now update their Aadhaar details, including name, address, date of birth, and mobile number, from anywhere through the MyAadhaar portal. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has simplified the process, removing the need to visit physical Aadhaar centres for most updates.

Under the new system, Aadhaar holders can log in using their registered mobile number and make demographic updates online. The updates will be verified using the national database, ensuring accuracy and ease for users.
UIDAI has also revised the service fees for Aadhaar updates. Biometric updates such as fingerprints, iris scans, or photographs will now cost ₹125, increased from ₹100 earlier. For demographic updates, including name, address, date of birth, and mobile number, the fee is now ₹75, up from the previous ₹50.

In addition, the government has made Aadhaar-PAN linking mandatory. Citizens must complete this process by December 31, 2025. Failure to do so will result in the PAN card becoming inactive from January 1, 2026, preventing users from performing any PAN-related financial transactions.
