A plane carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar crashed near Baramati during landing; while earlier reports spoke of injuries, reports now suggest multiple fatalities.
A plane carrying Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar reportedly crashed on Wednesday morning while attempting to land near Baramati in Maharashtra, triggering widespread concern.
According to initial information, the aircraft met with an accident close to Baramati airport during the landing process. Early reports stated that Ajit Pawar, aged 66, sustained injuries and was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment. His medical condition was not officially confirmed at that stage.
Sources also indicated that Ajit Pawar’s personal security officers were on board the aircraft at the time of the crash. However, there was no clarity on whether the bodyguards or other occupants were injured.
