Fresh developments in the Red Fort blast case as investigators uncover full details of the car used in the explosion and identify its present owner.

The investigation into the Red Fort blast has gained fresh momentum with the identification of the Hyundai i20 used in the explosion. Authorities have now confirmed that the vehicle carried the registration number HR 26 CE 7674, belonging to Haryana.

The current owner, identified as Mohammad Salman, has been detained by the police for questioning. Officials have also obtained his photograph, which has been circulated among investigating agencies to trace his movements and associates.

According to sources, the car was earlier owned by Tariq, a resident of Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, a region known for its past terror links. This revelation has added a new dimension to the case, raising suspicions about whether the explosion was part of a larger planned network.

Investigators are exploring multiple possibilities, including whether Salman was aware of the car’s use in transporting explosive materials or if he was unknowingly drawn into the incident. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Delhi Police are jointly analyzing call records, transaction histories, and surveillance footage to establish the sequence of events.

The timing of the explosion, occurring just hours after a 3,000 kg explosive seizure in Faridabad, has intensified speculation of a coordinated operation. Among the materials recovered were 350 kg of ammonium nitrate, a key substance often used in high-intensity blasts.

Officials have not ruled out a Pulwama connection, recalling the 2019 suicide attack on a CRPF convoy that claimed 40 lives. The link between the Haryana car, its Pulwama buyer, and the recent explosive seizure suggests a broader, possibly orchestrated network.

Security has been heightened across Delhi, with additional forces deployed at metro stations, airports, and government establishments. Investigations continue under close supervision from the Home Ministry, as the nation awaits the NIA’s official findings in what’s turning out to be one of Delhi’s most significant investigations since 2011.
