A case has been filed against TVK party leaders, including Vijay’s aide N Anand, under multiple sections following the deadly Karur rally stampede. Vijay meets legal team, may visit victims’ families.

The deadly Karur rally stampede that claimed 39 lives has triggered immediate legal action. Karur City Police have registered a case against four persons, including actor-politician Vijay’s top aide and TVK general secretary N Anand, along with Karur West District Secretary Mathiyazhagan, C.T. Nirmal Kumar, and others.

The case has been filed under multiple provisions: Section 105 (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder), Section 110 (Attempt to commit culpable homicide), Section 125(b) (Rash or negligent acts endangering human life), Section 223 (Disobedience to order of public officer), and Section 3 of the TNPPDL Act (Damage to public property).

In response, Governor R.N. Ravi has written to the Tamil Nadu government seeking a detailed report on the stampede and questioning why adequate precautions were not taken during the rally.

Meanwhile, Vijay has been continuously consulting his legal team and senior party leaders at his residence. As a precautionary step, he has postponed all campaign rallies for one month. Sources indicate that Vijay is expected to release an official statement by 1 PM today and may also visit Karur to meet families of the deceased, offering condolences and support.
