PM Modi inaugurated Seva Teerth, India’s new PMO hub, and announced cashless accident care, expanded women schemes, agri and startup funds
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated Seva Teerth, India’s new integrated administrative complex that will now house the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) along with other key executive agencies. The move marks the first major relocation of the PMO since Independence, shifting operations from the historic South Block to a modern, state‑of‑the‑art facility designed to consolidate ministries and streamline governance.
Described by officials as a “transformational milestone in India’s administrative architecture,” Seva Teerth reflects the government’s vision of building a citizen‑centric, efficient ecosystem. To commemorate the occasion, the Prime Minister also released a ₹100 coin. The complex includes Seva Teerth‑1 (PMO), Seva Teerth‑2 (National Security Council Secretariat), and Seva Teerth‑3 (Cabinet Secretariat), all co‑located to strengthen strategic coordination. Adjacent Duttva Bhavan‑1 and 2 will accommodate ministries such as Finance, Defence, Health, Education, Agriculture, and Tribal Affairs, among others.
First Decisions from Seva Teerth
Immediately after the inauguration, Modi announced several initiatives aimed at vulnerable citizens, farmers, women, and youth.
• PM Rahat Yojana: Cashless treatment of up to ₹1.5 lakh for accident victims.
• Lakh Pati Didi Scheme: Target doubled to six crore women entrepreneurs by March 2029, after crossing three crore ahead of schedule.
• Agri Infrastructure Fund: Outlay increased from ₹1 lakh crore to ₹2 lakh crore to strengthen the agriculture value chain.
• Start-up India Fund 2.0: A ₹10,000 crore corpus to support deep tech, advanced manufacturing, and early‑stage ventures.

Why the Shift Matters
For decades, ministries operated from scattered, aging buildings across Central Vista, leading to coordination gaps and high maintenance costs. Seva Teerth aims to resolve these challenges by consolidating offices into future‑ready infrastructure, reducing costs, and expediting decision‑making. Officials expect the move to enhance transparency and improve public access.
Future of Old PMO Buildings
Once vacated, the iconic South and North Blocks will be converted into a public museum named Yuge Yugin Bharat Sangharalaya. An agreement with France’s Museum Development Agency has already been signed to provide technical cooperation for its development.
With Seva Teerth now operational, India’s most powerful office has shifted to a new address, symbolizing both administrative modernization and a renewed focus on citizen welfare.
