  • Red Fort blast accused Umar Nabi’s family home demolished in Pulwama
  • Action meant to deter support and shelter for terrorism
  • Similar demolitions carried out earlier in other Kashmir terror cases

Jammu & Kashmir Police raze the Pulwama home of Red Fort blast accused Dr. Umar Nabi, sending a strict message against sheltering or supporting terrorism in India.

The Jammu & Kashmir Police have demolished the Pulwama home of Dr. Umar Nabi, the man accused of triggering the deadly car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort. The action took place in Kooli village of Pulwama district, where Umar Nabi’s mother, brothers, and sister-in-law were living in the same house.

Officials said the demolition was carried out as part of a strict policy to ensure that those involved in terror activities do not receive shelter or support. According to police investigations, Umar Nabi had returned to his village a few weeks earlier and told his family that he was under severe stress. He reportedly said he “would not let anyone catch him” before leaving for Faridabad in Haryana.

Investigators believe this indicates that Umar Nabi had been planning the major blast for several days and had decided to go underground after the attack.

Authorities stated that demolishing the homes of individuals involved in terror acts sends a strong warning, that terrorism will not be tolerated and those aiding or harboring attackers will not be spared. Security agencies emphasised that no person involved in such acts will be allowed to build a base or find safety anywhere in the country.

This is not the first time such an action has been taken in Jammu & Kashmir. Earlier, homes belonging to people who allegedly helped the Pahalgam attackers or supported the planning of the incident were also demolished.
