Teen siblings jump from ninth floor in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad; police investigate possible link to a task-based Korean gaming application.
A tragic incident has shaken Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, where three sisters aged 12, 14 and 16 died by suicide after jumping from the ninth floor of their residential building in the early hours of Wednesday, around 2 am.
The victims reportedly left behind a note that read, “Sorry, Dad. I feel very lonely.” The note, recovered from their room, also carried emotional emojis. Another message written in Hindi stated that everything mentioned in the diary reflected the truth and urged readers to go through it carefully.
According to preliminary findings, the sisters were spending long hours on their mobile phones and were believed to be addicted to a Korean task-based gaming application. Police sources said the app allegedly assigns multiple tasks, with the final task reportedly given to the girls a day before the incident.

The girls’ father had married twice and had two children from his first marriage and one from his second. He told investigators that he was unaware his daughters were involved in any such online game and believed they were only playing casual games like Ludo. He said forensic experts later informed him about the task-based nature of the app.
Police officials stated that the application reportedly consisted of 50 tasks, with the 14-year-old acting as the group leader who relayed instructions. It is suspected that the girls used a two-step ladder as part of the final task before jumping from the balcony.
During a search of the family’s flat, police recovered a one-page suicide note addressed to the parents and observed family photographs spread across the room floor. Residents of the building reported hearing a loud sound and immediately alerted authorities.

A police team reached the spot, secured the area and shifted the bodies to a hospital in Loni, where doctors declared them dead. The bodies were later sent for post-mortem examination.
Police clarified that the exact cause of death is still under investigation, and it is yet to be conclusively established whether online gaming addiction directly led to the incident. Senior Superintendent of Police Atul Kumar Singh confirmed that all three girls died after falling from the ninth floor.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Nimitsh Patil said the children appeared to be influenced by Korean culture. He added that the family had restricted mobile phone usage for a few days and no immediate signs of gaming activity were noticed at that time.
Investigators are now examining the mobile phones, digital history, online communications and app usage of the victims. Cyber experts may be involved to trace how the girls were introduced to the task-based game and whether external influence was involved.
