Pilot online current booking for SriVani darshan begins January 9, aiming to reduce queues, improve transparency and ease pilgrim movement at Tirumala.
In a major administrative reform focused on pilgrim convenience, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced a significant change to the SriVani darshan ticketing system. The temple body has decided to shift the SriVani current booking tickets, earlier issued through offline counters at Tirumala, to a daily online booking process on an experimental basis.
The new system will come into effect from January 9 and will be implemented for a one-month pilot period. Under this revised arrangement, the 800 SriVani darshan tickets that were previously available each day at offline counters in Tirumala will now be released exclusively through an online current booking platform.
As per the schedule announced by TTD officials, these tickets will be made available daily from 9 am and remain open for booking until 2 pm, strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Devotees who successfully book tickets under this system must report for darshan on the same day at 4 pm.
To ensure transparency and prevent misuse, TTD has made Aadhaar authentication and mobile number verification mandatory during the booking process. Ticket allocation has also been capped at one family per booking, with a maximum of four members, including the main devotee.
Officials stated that the decision was taken to eliminate long queues and extended waiting hours that devotees were forced to endure at offline counters in Tirumala. The online system is expected to ease congestion and improve crowd management.
While this pilot project will be reviewed after one month, the existing advance online booking of 500 SriVani darshan tickets per day will continue without any change. A detailed review of the advance booking mechanism will be carried out after three months.

Importantly, the offline current booking of 200 SriVani darshan tickets per day at Tirupati airport will remain operational, ensuring continued access for arriving pilgrims.
