Meerut youth collapses mid-game as blood pressure spikes to critical levels; long-term hypertension and gaming strain suspected as key triggers
A tragic incident from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has raised fresh concerns over health risks linked to prolonged gaming and uncontrolled blood pressure. Mohammed Kaif, a young resident of Khairnagar, died after suffering a sudden brain hemorrhage while playing the online game PUBG at home.
According to family members, Kaif was playing the game late at night with headphones on both ears when he suddenly complained of severe headache and collapsed. Alarmed by his condition, relatives rushed him to a nearby private hospital. Doctors there, noting the seriousness of his condition, immediately referred him to a specialised private hospital in Delhi for advanced treatment.

Despite intensive medical care, Kaif could not recover and passed away on Saturday. His last rites were performed on Sunday evening at the Eidgah burial ground, in the presence of grieving family members and local residents.
Doctors revealed that Kaif’s blood pressure had crossed 300 at the time he was admitted, an extremely dangerous level. This sudden spike caused a rupture in a blood vessel inside the brain, leading to massive internal bleeding, which proved fatal.
Kaif’s father, Farooq, who works in the property business, said his son had been battling high blood pressure for nearly a decade. Although Kaif was on treatment and appeared to lead a normal life, the family never imagined that the condition could take such a deadly turn. He also assisted his father in daily work and seemed healthy before the incident.
