The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made another arrest in relation to the murder of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Praveen Nettaru. The suspect was attempting to cross international borders while he was arrested. The suspect has been identified as Riyaz Yousuf Haaralli.
Riyaz was arrested at the Mumbai International Airport. The total number of arrested individuals in the case has now gone up to 19.
In May 2023, a suspect who played a prominent role was arrested. Musthafa Paichar who belonged to the Shanti Nagar region of Sullia was the arrested individual. He was absconding ever since the death of Praveen. The NIA was on the lookout for him. He was arrested near Sakleshpur in Hassan.

A reward of Rs 5 lakh was announced for anyone who would disclose details about Musthafa. Through this announcement the NIA discovered that he was staying within the jurisdiction of the Sakleshpur Town Police Station.
