The nursing officer, identified as Satish Kumar, allegedly harassed a female doctor in an operation theatre and sent her an obscene SMS, reportedly according to Rishikesh police officer Shankar Singh Bisht. Following the allegations, Kumar was suspended from his position.

The incident sparked outrage among the hospital’s doctors, leading them to strike and protest outside the dean’s office, demanding Kumar’s termination. The doctors also filed a police complaint, prompting the dramatic arrest.

In another video, police officers are seen surrounded by protesting doctors as they escort Kumar into the police car. The doctors, chanting slogans, insisted that Kumar’s suspension was insufficient, calling for his immediate dismissal. Despite the protests, emergency services at AIIMS Rishikesh remain operational, though the strike continues.
