Blue Corner Notices are issued for investigative purposes

With videos of his alleged sexcapade going viral, tainted Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna sojourned to Germany last week. While he has sent a letter to the SIT that he would return in a few days’ time, a Blue Corner Notice may be issued against him.

So what is it? 

It is a type of notice issued by the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) to seek the location and arrest of a person wanted for prosecution or to serve a sentence based on an arrest warrant or court judgment issued by judicial authorities in a member country.

Prajwal is said to have been in Frankfurt and the SIT, this morning, visited his house in Hassan in a case related to sexual misconduct, in which both he and his father are allegedly involved. 

The Notice is used to collect additional information about a person’s identity, location, or activities in relation to a crime.

It should be noted that such notices are typically used for investigative purposes, gathering intelligence, and sharing information among law enforcement agencies across different countries. They are less urgent than Red Notices and are often used in cases where there is a need for additional information or cooperation in ongoing investigations.
