Woman has been recognised as Ankitha hailing from West Bengal

The mice prostrated in front of the god

Ankitha draped a blanket around the mice

Everyone will remember Shravana Kumara taking his parents on a trip to Kashi. Times have now changed. Many are taking their pets along with them on their pilgrimage. Dogs and cats are still common pets. One person has however garnered attention for taking mice along with her on her visit to the Jagganath temple in Puri, Odisha.

The incident recently came to light. The woman has been recognised as Ankitha hailing from West Bengal. A mouse was used as a vehicle by goddess Laxmi. Wealth and prosperity appears to be the reason for taking the mouse alongside her.

She took the mice inside the shrine as well. The mice also prostrated in front of the god along with her. She later posed with them in front of a camera and even chanted the slogan “Jai Jagannath.”

She even draped a blanket around the mice to prevent them from feeling cold during winter. She was even seen saying something to the mice. The video of this incident has become viral on social media.

One would have to wonder whether part of the Abhada (food offered to devotees) was offered to the mice or how the reception of the mice towards it was.
