PV Sindhu has teamed up with the legendary Prakash Padukone in her pursuit of Olympic gold, revealing that she is now undergoing training at his academy in Bengaluru in preparation for the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Sindhu expressed her gratitude to Padukone, acknowledging him not just as a mentor but also as a guide, guru, and true friend who has played a pivotal role in her training since August. She emphasized her belief that Padukone has the expertise to bring out the best in her game.

Padukone, a renowned figure in Indian badminton, is optimistic about restoring Sindhu’s top form. He has set the ambitious goal of securing an Olympic gold, the only medal missing from Sindhu’s collection, having won silver in Rio and bronze in Tokyo.

Despite a relatively lackluster 2023 for Sindhu, marked by early exits in several tournaments, including the Madrid Masters where she was defeated by Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, there is hope for a turnaround as the year draws to a close.

Sindhu reached the final stages in events like the Malaysia Masters, Canada Open, Arctic Open, and Denmark Open, aiming for a fresh start and a return to her dominant form.
