Rafael Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam champion, has announced that he will retire from professional tennis following this season. The Spanish icon, who redefined the sport as part of the "Big Three" alongside Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, will make his final appearance at the Davis Cup Finals in Málaga this November.

Nadal, 38, will represent Spain in their quarter-final match against the Netherlands from November 19 to 21. His retirement marks the conclusion of a career that has spanned over two decades, during which he amassed 92 ATP titles, including a record 14 French Open championships—cementing his dominance on clay.
This will be Nadal's first match since his appearance at the Paris Olympics earlier this year, where he fell short in both singles and doubles. Despite these setbacks, his participation in the Davis Cup holds special significance, as he helped Spain capture the title in 2004 at just 17 years old, an early milestone in his career.
Injuries have plagued Nadal in recent months, limiting his ability to compete consistently. However, his relentless determination and perseverance have left an indelible mark on the sport. As he prepares for retirement, Nadal will be remembered as one of tennis’ greatest players, with his legacy particularly linked to his unmatched success at the French Open.
