Rekha Jhunjhunwala, the wife of billionaire stock investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, has acquired multiple units of a building on Mumbai’s Walkeshwar Road for a reported sum of Rs 118 crore.

This acquisition was to safeguard the uninterrupted sea view from her new residence, a luxury apartment on the third floor of the Rockside Apartments tower.

Anticipating potential obstructions due to redevelopment, she purchased nine apartments since November 2023, totaling Rs 118 crore. Her family now reportedly owns 19 out of 24 units in the building.

Rekha Jhunjhunwala, currently the largest individual investor in India, commands a portfolio worth over Rs 50,980 crore, spread across 26 stocks. Notable investments include holdings in Titan Company, Tata Motors, Concord Biotech, Star Health and Allied Insurance Company, and Metro Brands.

Her stake in Titan Company, for instance, amounts to 5.37% valued at Rs 17,500 crore, while in Tata Motors, it stands at 1.6% valued around Rs 5,000 crore. Similarly, her ownership in Star Health and Allied Insurance Company comprises 17.22% valued at approximately Rs 5,700 crore, as of December 31, 2023.
