DC lost by a margin of 106 runs

It took us two hours as well to bowl our overs: Ponting

There will be some good open discussions in the changing room: Ponting

The Delhi Capitals (DC) had a tough outing in Visakhapatnam after having conceded 272 runs in the first innings to the Kolata Knight Riders (KKR) and eventually losing by a margin of 106 runs. Captain Rishabh Pant failed to take a review of a decision that would have seen the end of Sunil Narine at an important stage of the game. Sunil Narine went on to score a 39-ball 85. Delhi Capitals also had to bring an extra fielder into the circle with 2 overs remaining as they failed to bowl within the time limits.

DC Head Coach Ricky Ponting was livid at the squad for their performance in the game. It’s pretty hard to assess right now. “I was almost embarrassed with that first-half of the game today, to concede that many runs and 17 wides. It took us two hours as well to bowl our overs. We are two overs behind again, so the guys who bowl the last two overs have four players outside the circle. There are a lot of things that happened today in this game that are unacceptable. A lot of things we will talk about as a group tonight, we will have to fix immediately to go forward in this tournament. So there will be some good open discussions in the changing room tonight for sure,” Ponting said in a statement after the game.
