He made his thoughts public on Instagram

Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma has finally opened up on the World Cup loss. India, though remained invincible till the semifinal, lost the final to Australia.

In an Instagram post, he touched upon the topic of how he got out of depression. He said, “My family and friends kept me going. It was not easy to digest. Life moves on and you have to move on. But honestly, it was tough to move on. I have always grown up watching the 50-over World Cup. And to me, that was the ultimate price. We have all worked hard for that 50 over World Cup. It is disappointing if you don’t get what you want.”

He also stressed on the importance of how people make mistakes. He added, “I thought we did everything we could from our side. We won 10 games. But even in those 10 games, we did make mistakes. But such mistakes happen in every game we play. You cannot have a perfect game, but a near-perfect game. I am really proud of the team for the way we have played.”

“I am sure people would be proud of the way we have played up until the final,” he reiterated.
