Sberbank, a Russian financial bank, is expanding its workforce by hiring 300 new employees for its IT center located in Bengaluru. The primary focus of the team at the Sber IT hub will be to address the technological needs of Sber’s Indian branch operations and to spearhead the development of the company’s core banking system solution. This solution aims to introduce new financial products to the bank’s clientele.

Roles being filled include frontend developers, team leaders, testing engineers, system analysts, and business analysts, among others. Last year, Sberbank established a significant IT unit in Bengaluru, housing its in-house data processing center and employing 200 individuals.

Although Sberbank’s Indian branch has been operational in New Delhi since 2010, offering a broad spectrum of financial services, the Bengaluru office will primarily concentrate on pioneering digital technologies that are reshaping the banking sector.

Anatoly Popov, deputy chairman of Sberbank’s Executive Board, reportedly emphasized the importance of this project in fostering economic growth in both India and Russia. He stated, “The objective is to enhance collaboration between India and Russia by providing valuable financial tools.”

Sber’s IT hub operates as a distributed application within a microservices architecture, deployed on cloud infrastructure. The bank is also actively developing its own internet banking platform and reporting solution.
