In a recent development, KE Kantesh, the son of the now-expelled BJP leader KS Eshwarappa, has secured a temporary injunction order from a Bengaluru court, prohibiting media outlets from disseminating explicit images or videos related to him.
The injunction, granted by 6th Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge DP Kumaraswamy on April 27, was issued ex-parte, without the presence of the defendants. Kantesh initiated legal action against 50 news and social media platforms.

Advocate M Vinod Kumar, representing Kantesh, argued that the defendants were publishing defamatory content about his client across various platforms, aiming to damage his reputation, particularly during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
The court ordered a temporary injunction, restraining the defendants from broadcasting, publishing, or distributing any alleged explicit visuals or related material concerning Kantesh until the next hearing scheduled for August 3.
This development coincides with heightened sensitivity surrounding leaked videos allegedly involving Prajwal Revanna, JD(S) MP from Hassan and the grandson of former Prime Minister Deve Gowda.
Notably, in 2023, Prajwal obtained an injunction against 86 media houses, claiming the videos were fabricated. Kantesh, initially eyeing the Haveri Parliamentary seat, is now backing his father’s independent candidacy in Shivamogga against incumbent MP BY Raghavendra, son of former Chief Minister BS Yeddiyurappa.
