Trains connecting Mysuru and Bengaluru are set to run at 10-minute intervals, marking a significant step by the Railway Board to bolster connectivity and stimulate economic growth.

This strategic decision aims to provide passengers with a more efficient, secure, and comfortable travel experience.

As part of a comprehensive plan to meet the growing demand for improved connectivity, the Railway Board is moving forward with the quadrupling of tracks between Mysuru and Bengaluru.

The envisioned metro-style trains linking the two cities are a key component of this initiative. The Board has approved the final location survey for quadrupling in the Bangarpet-Jolarpet, Bengaluru-Tumakuru, and Bengaluru-Mysuru sections. Furthermore, approval has been granted for the final location survey of a circular railway encircling the outskirts of Bengaluru.

Upon completion of the quadrupling project, there will be two sets of trains operating between Mysuru and Bengaluru, serving exclusive Mysuru-Bengaluru routes and Mysuru to other destinations.

These additional tracks will be laid alongside the existing ones. Concurrently, electrification efforts will be undertaken, as outlined by Railway Board officials.

This comprehensive approach aims to meet the rising demand for enhanced connectivity and pave the way for a more advanced and efficient rail network in the region.
