ICC T20 rankings boost India: Kishan leaps to 8th, Abhishek stays No.1, Tilak climbs to 4th, SKY steady at 6th, Pandya & Dube shine as all‑rounders
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest T20 rankings amid the ongoing World Cup 2026, with several Indian players making notable gains. The update reflects India’s strong performances in recent series and the tournament, boosting confidence within the squad.
One of the biggest surprises is Ishan Kishan’s dramatic rise. Returning to the national side after nearly two years, the wicketkeeper‑batsman has surged into the top 10. Previously outside the top 100, Kishan climbed 17 places to secure the 8th spot. His consistent contributions against New Zealand, South Africa, and in the current World Cup have been instrumental in this leap.
Tilak Verma, a key figure in India’s middle order, also improved his standing. Despite battling injury concerns, his steady performances have pushed him from 5th to 4th place. Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma continues to dominate the charts, holding firm at the No. 1 position despite recent criticism over a string of low scores. Suryakumar Yadav remains unchanged at 6th, maintaining his reputation as one of India’s most reliable T20 batters.

India’s presence is equally strong in the all‑rounder category. Vice‑captain Hardik Pandya retained his 3rd position with 282 rating points, underlining his consistent impact with both bat and ball. Shivam Dube added to the momentum, climbing three places to 9th, further strengthening India’s representation in the top 10.
The latest rankings, released in the midst of the World Cup, highlight India’s depth in talent and reinforce the team’s growing dominance in the shortest format of the game. With multiple players excelling across categories, the update serves as a morale boost as India continues its campaign.
